It’s back… and we’re not just talkin’ about the patch on JJ’s jacket. Windy City Soul Club returns to the Empty Bottle on Friday, April 30. It’s been too long, but that can only mean one thing… the boys got a lot of new records and they’re all itchin’ to drop the biggest the best northern soul Chicago has ever heard. It’s WCSC. February really is a short month… seems like days ago we were getting sick from talc fumes at Empty Bottle. We’ll, it’s that time again. Saturday, Windy City Soul Club returns to Empty Bottle for more floorpounding northern classics and modern rarities. Brad Hales from Ann Arbor Soul Club and Peoples Records Detroit comes in for a guest set, so don’t miss it!

Windy City Soul Club is back for February this FRIDAY, Feb. 5, at the Empty Bottle. WCSC welcomes Dante of Danny’s ever-popular funk night in… we hear he has a killer northern soul collection, so it’ll be great to see what he brings. See you there!

Get in the Gallery, cos Jordan put up a ton of pictures from the January edition of the Windy City Soul Club… gotta admit, there were more people there than we realized! Lots of familiar faces in the pictures, some dancing right alongside the MayDays… didn’t know it! It was that kind of night.

Up next: January 22, Don’t miss JJ and Ben guest DJing with at Jay Wells’ fantastic soul monthly at the fantastic Whistler. This party happens the fourth Friday of every month, and you shouldn’t miss a single one.

Next WCSC night will be the first Friday in February, 2/5/2010, and still at the Empty Bottle. Doors at 10pm (although you can certainly arrive earlier, JJ starts spinning popcorn and rnb sounds around 9:30 to get the vibe going), on $5.

Windy City Soul Club is back at the Empty Bottle this Saturday, January 9, after a knockout smash event in December. Doors at 10pm (we think), still $5.

It’s the equivalent of a TV175 barn find. It just doesn’t happen. Lucky for us, it did, and they open the bar with DJ Dave Roberts’ signature event, Planet Earth.

If you haven’t been to Milwaukee for NYE, you owe it to yourself to make the trek. For one night closing hours are ignored and the town stays open all night. Some bars won’t close until January 2. We’re not kidding. We have no idea how late the Brewhaus will let us stay, but we do know that we’ll get all the hot Get Down DJs, The Chain will be playing a live set, Mr. Fine Wine of Downtown Soulville (WFMU) will be spinning, JJ will be there to represent the Windy City Soul Club, there’s free falafel, and in general it will be an amazing party.

What a party! The Windy City Soul Club crowd delivered and then some.

TimeOut Chicago already has pics from Kyle LaValley up on their site – with even more photos on her site. Chicago Scooter Club Eric captured some video of que, which TimeOut reported was deep until 1am.
